Description TifEagle® is a fine-textured dwarf bermudagrass, tolerant of 3mm mowing height and uniquely adapted to intensively managed golf greens in the Southern Hemisphere. There are significantly fewer seed heads on TifEagle® than Tifdwarf and Tifgreen. TifEagle® tends to produce more stolons and has shorter and narrower leaves than Tifdwarf. Internod length is similar. Observations from golf course superintendents and production farm managers suggest that TifEagle® root density is greater than Tifdwarf while growing time is shorter. Characteristics Hot Weather Tolerance: Excellent Shade Tolerance: Low – requires full sun and should not be used in a shady site Wear Resistance: Excellent Salt Tolerance: Very Good Recovery From Injury: Excellent Winter Color: Dormant Mowing Height: 1/2" – 2” Disease, Weed & Insect Resistance: Aggressive to compete with weeds, minimal disease and insect problems that can be chemically controlled Use: Residential, Commercial, Golf and Sports fields Ideal for homes with children and pets! General Care Fertilization: Fertilize with a complete fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphate and potassium 1 or 2 times a year, spring and fall. Apply Nitrogen 1-2 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. per year. Watering: Moderate watering needs. Apply at least 1 inch of water as a deep soaking every 4-7 days during hot or dry periods. After sod establishment, avoid frequent, shallow watering that results in shallow roots, permitting weed germination and growth Mowing: Needs to be mowed about every 4-7 days during the growing season. Never remove more than 1/3 of the shoot growth at one mowing. Fungicides: Tolerant to the following herbicides: 2-4D, MSMA, Dicamba, Triclopyr, Bromoxynil, Imaxaquine, Siminize, Pennant, Balan, Betesan, and Prowl |
